Computers and laptops¶

Material loans¶

The IDCS partner laboratory like CPHT and CMLS provides workstation equipment (1) that meet IT laboratory needs and security criteria of CNRS and École polytechnique for all its staff who would not be equipped with professional computer equipment.

If you are in this case, we strongly encourage you to borrow this material instead of your personal computer to access the IT resources of the laboratory and the School.

We ask that you first complete and sign the loan agreement with your manager and return it to us by email or to our office. Secondly, and depending on the material available, we will get back to you, to provide you with the equipment, configure it and possibly explain how it works as well as access to the laboratory's computer resources (VPN, SSH access, messaging, etc.).

Material returns¶

At the end of your contract or internship, or in the event of your departure, you must return the borrowed equipment to the IT department office of your laboratory, in a clean and tidy condition and in the presence of your supervisor or manager.

Laboratory equipment is inventoried and equipped with an anti-theft plate StopTrack.

Material damaged¶

In the event of hardware problems, or damage to equipment for any reason whatsoever, you must inform the IDCS partner laboratory's IT department as soon as possible.

Workstation backup service¶

The laboratory uses the ATEMPO LINA backup solution on the equipment that 'it makes available.

Service features¶

• Secure service hosted at Ecole polytechnique.
• Backup only of the Documents folder, and of the user's keyring*.
• 3 months retention (90 days).

Self-service restauration¶

Restoring files can be achieved by 2 ways :

• Lina → Restoration assistant → Restoration assistant

• Lina → Restoration assistant → Search and find
