Documentation creation and management

Collaborative online digital services are offered by CNRS, Ecole Polytechnique, RENATER and the French government.

CNRS - sDrive

sDrive

  • The CNRS sDrive is a tool for synchronizing and sharing professional office data1. It replaces tools such as OneDrive2 and Dropbox2.
  • Your personal space can be accessed via a web browser (on workstations, smartphones or tablets), or by synchronizing your data using synchronization software installed on your workstation (Nextcloud).
  • Your personal space has a storage quota limited to 100 GB. Quota increases are not granted.
  • Your space provides a recycle garbage can that you can access from a web browser. Data in this recycle garbage can is deleted when it is more than 30 days old, or when your quota reaches saturation.
  • Your delegation can provide you with shared folders, whose quota is not the same as your personal account quota.
  • Your data is :
    • located in a CNRS datacenter in France,
    • scanned for viruses,
    • backed up weekly.

Warning

sDrive is not a global backup tool for your workstation. If you lose your workstation, sDrive cannot be used to fully restore it. However, sDrive can be used to recover previously synchronized files on a new workstation. Please note that any modification to a synchronized file is reflected in sDrive in near-real time.

Notepad de l'État

Notepad de l'État

Notepad de l'État is an online collaborative tool that lets you write notes or slides alone or with others, in Markdown format. You can render LaTeX mathematical expressions using MathJax, as on math.stackexchange.com.

The documents you can create on this server are confidential by default.

To access these confidential pads, you can log in with your CNRS JANUS ID.

You can make a pad publicly viewable by clicking on the button that initially says LIMITED (top right of your text). If you choose Editable it will be visible to anyone you give the link to, but editable only by other state agents. If you choose Freely it will be editable by anyone (provided they have the link). In both cases, make sure that the document does not contain any personal or confidential information.

Evento (events scheduling)

Evento

Gitlab

GITLAB

Gitlab is a collaborative service for managing code and software development projects, based on the Git source management software and inspired by Github.

It incorporates the classic tools of a software forge (request tracking, wiki) as well as a number of Git-specific features :

  • push protection for certain branches
  • repository cloning and merge requests,
  • integrated display of Markdown files (in particular README.md),
  • continuous integration system

IDCS recommends the use of 2 GITLAB forges operated by CNRS, depending on the affiliation of the partner laboratory :
